Anne-Marie has a genuine passion for, and commitment to, family law.  She was admitted as a solicitor in 2000 after having worked as a Legal Associate to a Family Court Judge and has practiced her entire career in this jurisdiction.

Committed to both the practice and evolution of family law, throughout her career she has voluntarily served as an Executive committee member of Queensland’s and Australia’s major legal organisations including the Law Council of Australia’s Family Law Section – the peak representative body for family lawyers in Australia. A highly sought-after mediator, she also has a strong interest in teaching, being the Family Law course coordinator and lecturer at the University of Queensland where she has been nominated for the Excellence in Teaching award.  She is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers. 

Anne-Marie has been a contributing author to the CCH loose leaf service and Master Family Law Guide for many years.  She is also currently a contributing editor (Alternate Dispute Resolution) to the Australian Family Law Review and her professional standing has seen her represent colleagues in discussions with the Courts and other associated organisations, including in relation to Collaborative Practice, a practice model in which she has actively worked in since 2005.  

Since it's inception, the independent Doyle’s Guide has recognised her as a “Leading” family lawyer in Queensland, including for 2018.  Anne-Marie has also been recognised by her peers as one of Queensland's Leading Parenting and Children's Matters Lawyers and Leading Mediator for 2018.

He is known as a trusted advisor and fearless advocate. His meticulous preparation means he thrives in resolving complex matters where there is significant uncertainty of outcome and where he can negotiate for the best result or deftly navigate complex litigation. 

Doyle’s Guide has repeatedly recognised James, including as a “Recommended” family lawyer in Brisbane in 2018.

Kieran has practiced Family Law for more than 20 years and has been an Accredited Family Law Specialist since 2001. He has a well established reputation for providing expert and empathetic advice to become a trusted advisor to his clients. He is focused on working towards a resolution before litigation. Routinely acknowledged by his peers, is recognised by his peers as a “Leading” family lawyer and Leading High Value and Complex Property Matter lawyer in the most recent Doyle’s Guide.

Kieran counts as some of his most rewarding experiences those coming from assisting people to resolve issues that have international complexities. He has acted for clients in and from several overseas jurisdictions including the UK, New Zealand, The Philippines, India and the UAE.

His legal formation in the regional sphere has also given him a special interest in matters involving rural property disputes. Other areas of interest include injunctions and other interim relief.

Outside of work, Kieran also sits on one of Queensland’s major not-for-profit boards and leads military history tours to the Australian battlefields of France and Belgium. 





With more than 15 years’ experience in family law, Kirstie is an Accredited Specialist who deftly helps clients navigate the legal landscape.  She takes a pragmatic approach to family law looking for outcomes which are timely, efficient and cost-effective.

Kirstie is regarded by her peers as a firm yet approachable and courteous adversary.  Her clients feel secure in her stewardship of their matters and regularly refer family, friends and colleagues to Kirstie’s safe legal hands.

Kirstie has a particular interest in complex financial and parenting issues and has accumulated broad experience in both areas.  She has successfully run complex property matters with international considerations, in both the Family Court of Australia and the Federal Circuit Court, both at trial and on appeal.

Louise has 13  years’ experience in the legal profession and seven years specialising as a family lawyer. An Accredited Specialist, she has a track record of successfully assisting clients to resolve their matters through alternative methods of dispute resolution, however also if necessary, through litigation. 

With a background in commercial law she is a known expert in complex property and parenting issues. An effective negotiator and trained Collaborative Lawyer, Louise assists clients to resolve their matters as amicably as possible.

Anna has worked exclusively in Family Law since her admission as a Solicitor. Anna’s experience at the Federal Circuit Court has provided her with a thorough working knowledge of Family Law and its processes. Her ongoing involvement in the community legal sector ensures she applies a compassionate approach to complex Family Law Issues.

Anna is committed to providing clear advice to her clients, to ensure they understand the process and are comfortable with any action before it is taken. Her ability to communicate effectively with clients and practitioners alike ensures the best results for her clients.

Anna’s passion for and interest in this area of the law was demonstrated in her her leadership role as Chair of the NSW Young Lawyers Family Law Committee.

Erin joined the firm after obtaining her early career formation in the bear pit of Sydney family law. She brings to our practice a tenacity that has been honed in complex litigation for high net worth clients, along with valuable perspectives on how nuanced regional variations of a federal jurisdiction can be. She has, as a result of her experience, a keen interest in strategy and the effective use of both litigation and alternate dispute resolution skills.   

Also a trained Collaborative Lawyer, Erin is committed to excellent client service and to ensuring that necessary ongoing relationships between co-parents are preserved wherever possible. 

Erin has been recognised by her peers as a "Rising Star" in the 2018 Doyle's Guide to Queensland's Leading Family Lawyers.

Harry comes from a Sydney family law practice, where he built broad litigation experience in property and parenting matters. He aims to be straightforward in his work – giving no-nonsense and practical advice. He has a particular interest in difficult parenting matters, as property matters involving novel legal issues.

Harry's calm and thoughtful demeanour ensures that clients feel comfortable with his advice from the outset and that his relationship with his colleagues is always productive.

In a relatively short period of time Skye has an established competency in getting people to the “yes” stage in resolving financial and parenting disputes.

Skye is especially keen to infuse her professionalism with accessibility and friendliness. Skye has completed an Honours thesis on Domestic Violence and the impact on property settlements.

Hannah is currently on leave from Rice Naughton McCarthy while she spends a year as the Legal Associate to Justice Kent of the Appeal Division of the Family Court.

Sophie has worked in Family Law for over two years, including as a para-legal in our firm.  She is committed to helping clients navigate their parenting and property settlement matters and to focus their lives in a positive direction.

She is recognised as an intelligent, mature and compassionate practitioner whose previous professional and client care skills are obvious to all who work with her.




Lilian is completing her Bachelor of Laws and as a part of that exercise is providing the firm with valuable paralegal support. Lilian takes the view that there is nothing like learning at the coal face under the guidance of experienced practitioners.


The support team is led by our Practice Managers Kendall Cardwell and Lynn Wheeler with Donna, Ines, Steph, Alyson and Ruth providing direct support to our lawyers. They too are an experienced, professional team who bring efficiency and empathy to dealing with your matter.
